This practice is built on people telling a stranger private things about their lives. This page sets out exactly what is done with that information. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.
Who this is
This website is operated by Aditya Shastri, who works as an independent Vedic astrologer (jyotiṣī) and takes private consultations. There is no company, no team and no call centre. Where this policy says “he” or “we”, it means one person.

What information is collected
When you approach him about a consultation, you will usually provide:
- your name, and an email address or phone number so he can reach you;
- your date of birth, place of birth, and your time of birth as closely as you know it;
- the question or situation you want the reading to address, in your own words;
- anything further you choose to say during or after the consultation.
Where a reading concerns another person — a child’s education, a marriage question involving a partner — you may provide their birth details as well. Only give them if you are entitled to.
After the consultation, a written note is prepared summarising what was discussed and what the chart indicates. A copy is kept.
What the website itself collects
The website is a set of information pages. It does not ask you to fill in anything, and there is no login, no account and no shopping basket.
As with any website, the hosting provider keeps standard server logs — the IP address a request came from, the browser used, which pages were requested and when. These are generated automatically for security and troubleshooting.
What is deliberately not collected
- No payment information. No card, UPI or bank details are taken through this website. There is no payment page and no payment gateway connected to it.
- No analytics or advertising trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta or Facebook pixel, no advertising tag and no session-recording tool on this site. Your visit is not profiled and is not passed to any advertising network.
- No marketing cookies. The site sets only what WordPress needs to function. Nothing is used to follow you to other websites.
Why your information is used
Your birth details and your question are used for one purpose: to prepare and give your reading, and to write the note afterwards. Your contact details are used to arrange the consultation and to send you that note.
Your information is not used to market anything to you. He does not run advertising campaigns on it, does not build a mailing list from it, and does not send newsletters.
Who can see it
Your details are read by Aditya Shastri. They are not shared with other astrologers, not passed to gemstone sellers, not sold, and not exchanged with anyone for any commercial purpose.
Two service providers necessarily handle the data in the course of storing it: email correspondence passes through Google (Gmail), and this website is hosted by Hostinger. They process it as providers, under their own terms, not for their own purposes.
Information would be disclosed beyond this only if a court or a law required it.
A note on discretion
What you discuss in a consultation is treated as private. Your situation is not used as an example, not repeated to other clients, and not published — including as a testimonial — unless you have specifically agreed to it.
How long it is kept
Birth details, correspondence and the written note are kept so that he can pick up a returning client’s chart without asking you to send everything again. If you would rather they were not kept, say so and they will be deleted.
Ask at any time and your details will be erased, except anything he is required by law to retain.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:
- ask what information about you is held, and why;
- ask for anything inaccurate to be corrected, or anything incomplete to be completed;
- ask for your information to be erased;
- withdraw your consent, at which point your details are deleted and no further reading can be prepared;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated;
- raise a grievance, and have it answered.
To do any of these, write to info@jyotishadityaashastri.com. You will get a reply. If you are not satisfied with how a grievance is handled, you may take it to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Consultations are for adults. If a reading concerns a child — questions about study, aptitude or direction — it is taken from the parent or legal guardian, who provides the child’s birth details and consent. Children are not approached directly and no information is knowingly taken from anyone under eighteen without a parent or guardian.
Security
Your details are kept on password-protected devices and accounts. No one can promise that transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, and no such promise is made here. What is promised is that your information is not circulated, not sold, and not kept where it does not need to be.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top. If a change materially affects how your information is used, existing clients will be told directly.
